Our mission at the Center for Human Evolutionary Studies is to promote and support innovative and broad ranging faculty and student research that is grounded in evolutionary theory and explores the past and present of what it means to be human. Your contribution will support research in paleoanthropology, archeology, non-human primate behavioral ecology, genetics, and modern behavior across the globe, from New Jersey to Kenya, from Iceland to Indonesia.

- Zelnick Award FundEach year this award supports the pre-dissertation research of one or two second-year graduate students.

Support the Tuanan Orangutan Research Station
CHES also supports long-term research at the Tuanan Orangutan Research Station in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, one of the world's longest-running field sites for the study of wild orangutans. Research at Tuanan has contributed to our understanding of orangutan behavior, ecology, physiology, and evolution while supporting the study and conservation of their critically important peat-swamp forest habitat.
Gifts to the Tuanan Orangutan Research Station help sustain long-term field research, research infrastructure, and the people and resources necessary to continue studying and protecting this extraordinary population and ecosystem.
